Bryan's Random Rant of the Day
Hello. I am currently researching these fans/propellers, and in retrospect, should have prabably finish this researching before posting. Oh well. Instead, I will use this space to tell Jimmy that, as I am sure he is well aware, the navigation drop down tabs play hide and seek with you if you try to click on them. No worries. Bye.

Note: Bryan, just submit a new post after you're done and I'll replace it. -Jimmy

Regarding Fans...
Hey.. so we were talking about fan propulsion. Rather than use the fans to move the robot around, why don't we mount several smaller upward blowing fans on the underside of the robot to generate some downforce? It should develop some serious increase in traction and make our robot faster as a result. It might also help to cancel out the need for a "traction control system."

Just something to think about....

Regolith Surface
Hey... Just wanted to add an entry and get this blog going.

The Regolith material used for the playing surface, the "crater." By definition it is the powdery material found on solid rock on for example the "moon." The product FIRST will use for the playing field is Glasliner FRP. We can purchase this from basic hardware stores or online.

Also, on a side note. The entire field is not covered by this material. The borders are actually carpet so around the edges movement should not be to great of an issue. Not to mention that it sill provide the initial burst to propel a robot across the field.
